BIOGRAFÍA

Pintora académica de Vitoria, España. Tras licenciarse en la Universidad del Pais Vasco en el 2000 se trasladó a Nueva York en busca de una formación académica. 
Allí asistió a la Academia de Arte Figurativo de Nueva York (NYAA) graduándose en el 2002 con la obtención del Master de las Bellas Artes. 

Ese mismo año conoció a su mentor Jacob Collins, fundador de Water Street Atelier, The Hudson River Fellowship y The Grand Central Academy. 
Permaneció bajo su instrucción hasta el año 2005 en el  Water Street Atelier, donde completó su formación siguiendo el método académico de aprendizaje del siglo XIX. 

Encontramos en su trabajo unas composiciones muy cuidadas, una técnica académica donde el tratamiento de la figura humana y de la luz son excepcionales y una temática cercana al Romanticismo y al Simbolismo.
La capacidad de recrear un mundo onírico donde la magia y la fantasía forman parte de la realidad es un nexo de unión en su pintura.

Estas cualidades han conseguido que su obra sea reconocida internacionalmente y forme ya parte de proyectos como Star Wars Visions de Lucasfilm Ltd. en el 2009 y  La Imagen de Rusia 2012, proyecto en el que ha participado representando a España. 
Forma parte del selecto grupo de artistas reconocidos como Maestros Vivos del Arte Figurativo por la ARC y ha recibido el Premio William Bouguereau a la emoción, al tema y a la figura y el Premio Adquisición en el 2013.

2015 “Best in Show” otorgado por  la Fundación Art Renewal Center por su cuadro “Confianza absoluta: la Bella Durmiente” que presidirá dos exposiciones internacionales. La primera en el Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno (MEAM) y la segunda en el Salmagundi Club de Nueva York.

La mayor parte de su trabajo pertenece a colecciones privadas pero podemos ver algunas de sus pinturas en el Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno (MEAM), en Barcelona, España

BIOGRAPHY

An academic painter from Vitoria, Spain. She attended the Fine Arts University of the Basque Country and graduated in 2000. Unable to find any classical art training, she moved to New York. There she enrolled in the New York Academy of Figurative Art (NYAA) MFA program and graduated in 2002.

It was during this same year that she met her mentor, Jacob Collins, the founder of the Water Street Atelier, the Hudson River Fellowship and  The Grand Central Academy. To develop her training still further she studied under him at the Water Street Atelier from 2002 to 2005, where she completed her training following the nineteenth century academic method.

The technical expertise, the considered compositions, the exceptional treatment of light and the human form are evident and much appreciated in Martinez’s work. The symbiotic relationship of these elements creates imagery that evokes Romanticism and Symbolism. 
Her work has the ability to recreate a dream world where magic and fantasy are part of reality.

The quality of her artwork has been recognised internationally; she was commissioned by Lucasfilm Ltd. to take part on Star Wars Visions in 2009, representative of her country in the international art project “Image of Russia” 2012, ARC Living Master and William Bouguereau Award2013. 

2015 Best in Show, Art Renewal Center Award with her painting "Absolute trust: Sleeping Beauty"which will chair two international exhibitions: ARC Grand Salon in the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona and Salmagundi Club of New York . 

Most of her artwork belongs to private collections but now we can see some of her paintings in the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain.
